Re: PHEV on the way?
I don't see the point of plug in hybrids. It seems to take the disadvantages of EV and ICE and combines them. If I need to plug the thing in, just give me a full electric. Otherwise an ordinary hybrid would be better.

Maybe try GMF. They make protection plates for other exposed wiring. They might have something for this.

Re: 5.9l 12 valve cummins swap in my ford ranger px1
Are you looking to keep it all legal or does that not concern you? The 5.9 weighs around 500kg (the 3.2 is about half that) so I doubt you'll be able to keep it under the front axle load rating. However I see you are looking to change the axles any way so you might be able to get an engineer to pass...

This will result in cooler transmission temperatures and additional engine braking. I only know beca...

That's correct but the Mazda you can also use the other ones listed in the table you posted. In the Ford you cannot.
By the way, PXII is WSS-M2C913-D.
Anyway, we are getting off topic.

Because Mazda specify a lower grade of oil.cmar wrote:And servicing confusion already exists, why is it that Ford specify 15,000 Km oil change intervals, and Mazda 10,000 for the exact same engine?

Gee using the wrong oil or missing regular servicing in a different engine can degrade the lifespan of a wet belt by 150,000km. Who would have thought.

I believe they are making 2 utes. One is a uni body very lightly based on the Santa Cruz concept which we will not get and the other is a ladder frame in the same vein as Ranger et al.

If I'm not mistaken, which is highly likely, Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover run a twin turbo version of the 3.0 V6 used in the F150 with outputs up to 225kw and 700Nm. That sounds much tastier than our 3.2 and 2.0.

I'm onto my 3rd Ranger since the PX came out. Would buy again. I would change the air con. All three have had poor air conditioning. Some more engine power would be nice as well.

Re: 2021 engine's
Why would Ford use the VW diesel when they have their own 3.0 V6 as used in the F150 with very similar outputs? Especially since Ford are taking the lead in the development of this vehicle. It would be more likely that VW will take the Ford engine like Mazda did with the BT50.

That wheel will have the tyre sitting appropriately 43mm further out. Then if you put a 285 tyre on you can add another 10mm further out again from stock tyres.

Under $150 from memory. Decent value in my opinion since you don't have to stuff around getting them painted or worry that your Reject Shop covers are going to fall off. Plus who knows, you might be able to sell your old genuine ones and recover some of the money.

From my understanding they are relatively cheap through Ford spare parts. I would just go genuine. They are easy to replace. From memory it is just one bolt per handle.

You answered your own question with your post. There are plenty of people around that are sceptical of the 2.0 for no other reason than it's capacity. So Ford are hedging their bets by providing both. I feel the next generation Ranger will have the 2.0 as the base engine and the 3.0 powerstroke as t...

I'm pretty sure they are the same offset (+55) as the rest of the range. The extra track width comes from the suspension changes.
