Last I heard he had to give up on Rangers due to the grassfire issues and replaced his fleet with Hiluxes, to his regret. I think that was in the thread about the DPF problem.

Re: Best Off road/4WD maps?

You may want to consider Avenza maps. App is free and then you pay (some are free) for "paper" maps converted to high-res pdf. The GPS will accurately locate you on this PDF map and works offline.

Mind you, the Sync 2 maps/GPS is surprisingly accurate even in remote areas.

Re: Air con issue and phone issue

I think the climate control of the Ranger is buggy. Firstly, it takes ages to warm up. Second, it often is erratic. And when the engine is warm, sometimes it blows cool air when the temperature inside is clearly colder than the one you set. The forum is peppered with comments about sub-optimal perfo...

Means it absorbs moisture from the air. Never heard the claim before re WD40 and doesn't seem to make sense given WD40 is used to repel water. And it is definitely sold as a lubricant. It is unquestionably slippery... Easy to test I guess: spray it on a bit of water on a hard surface and see if the...

How much battery power do you need if the main use is radios? You may be able to just use one of those pocket-sized Lithium batteries that are sold as mini jump starters but also double as longuish-life batteries and electronics chargers. Actually, my experience with them as jump starters has been d...

I follow the advice and instructions of Ronny Dahl. If you search in YouTube under his name and 4x4 you will reach his channel. Then display by most popular videos or search for washing. I have learned to ignore warnings and failures if electronic systems the first time they show. Other times is collisi...

Curious to know the load capacity as well. That is a big and probably heavy platform and I wonder how much stuff you can put there before you reach the limit of the canopy without internal support.

What is ridiculous and frustrating in all this is that 50mm lift plus 50 mm increased tyre diameter is legal in Victoria. Buy now. Release date for the new Ranger may be pushed back, delivery times may be long and, most important in my mind, you will be purchasing a yet untested new vehicle. If you can afford to change car after 100K km, a Ranger bought today will be ready for trade in 3-4 years time and by then you wi...

That's an unbelievable price. Entering Clrak's rubber opens a lot your imagination. However, be mindful with neoprene because it is pretty weak. Is it realistic to distinguish a 75mm from a 77 mm lift. The atmospheric conditions, tyre pressure or amount of people and/or fuel would cause that difference. I reckon their stocks of paint deteriorate and change color over time so they have to come up with new names every few months ;)

Of course this is all intentional as it ensures no two Rangers have the exact same color so each is a unique collector item 8-)
