Re: Can the reverse sensers be turned off

I guess the calculation will go something like this... 13.8/120 = .115 amps (V/R=I) , so 13.8*.115 = 1.587 watts (P=VI) . You'll need something rated at about 1.5 watts or higher. Well they have been there since early 2013 and the van has been on the back for between 10,000 and 20,000K per year exc...

Re: Can the reverse sensers be turned off

I have a 2012 XLT and the reverse sensors have always turned off when a trailer is attached. If it has an oem towbar, it should have a trailer module under the passenger seat. With the led's, I fitted resistors to my van and just use a patch lead for other trailers. Thanks Grant - I tested this las...

Definitely go to a auto trans business to get the auto looked at. The transmission is reliable and the main killer is if the torque converter lets go. Not saying it is but it could be just a minor fault.. If metal was present when they dropped the pan then there would be a big problem. It could happ...

Re: Transmission Temps How low is to Low

I have had an aftermarket cooler and thermal bypass valve in my tranny since 2013 or 14. There has never been any alteration in the shifting over a wide range of ambient temperatures, minus 5C to 40+C.

When the box is flushed and the fluid changed there is no sign of wear in the filter or fluid.

Re: Where is the transmission line IN/OUT located on my Rang

The transmission cooler has to be removed and the transmission has to be over 80 C so the thermostat is open. I know you are DIY but I would be getting an auto transmission place to do it, as they have all the gear, the price may put you off but it is a flush so more fluid is used than just a fluid ...

Mechanically there are no problems blanking the egr. There are a couple of things that do happen though. The egr is used to waste gate the turbo, by it being left open when your foot comes off. I don't think this is a problem if you aren't a lead foot. The other thing I noticed when I removed my bla...

You need trailer brakes for anything over 750Kg, these can be simple override brakes up to 2000kg after that they have to be operated from the box office chair and electric brakes are the simplest for that, so an electric brake controller has to be fitted, Redarc tow pro and Tekonsha units are popul...

I used 120 ohm 1 watt carbon flim resistors on my van to stop the flickering and I would have bought them from Jaycar. Haven't had any problems in over 5 years. 1 for the brakes, 1 for each indicator and one for the tail lights and wired across the light positive to earth.
