Re: PHEV on the way?
Looks like something is brewing for a September 19th reveal, under a #BestOfBothWorlds campaign. Hope they can do a full PHEV rather than some Mild Hybrid BS. Really hope they can offer it on the WIldtrak X. https://twitter.com/FordAustralia/status/1702215606446313915 https://www.carsauce.com/car-n...

Re: New to forum
Welcome, it might help if you stated the weight of the skid steer and trailer. It will handle the legal gcm weight and the only thing is, if you have constant max weight on the Ranger the rear springs will sag.

Re: Getting Ranger Ready for Touring
As above, will depend on where you are planning on going and how long you plan on keeping the Ranger (time and km). If you are sticking to the main routes you won't really need any of that stuff. If you're the type of person that likes to be super prepared and cover all bases then go for it. In say...

Re: Getting Ranger Ready for Touring
Sammy, I am not quite sure what you are going to do touring Australia, whether that means mostly bitumen and he odd dirt road or harder roads, If it is only blacktop and a few dirt roads the only couple of mods I would do with the weight you are pulling is a suspension upgrade, remember the van is 2...

Re: Oil filter cap
Have only just got back to the oil leak, you would think a retired bloke would have plenty of time on his hands. I did get a new cap but when I removed the old one I couldn't find anything wrong with it or the o-ring. I installed a new filter and o-ring in the old cap and all was good. What I did no...

Re: Oil filter cap
I find the prices can be a hit & miss with dealerships, don't know if you remember but when the rangers were first released some had issues with oil filter housings leaking, my one was replaced under warranty in the first 12 months of ownership. I knew of at least 3 owners who suffered the same fat...

Oil filter cap
Did an oil change today and when I fired it she was leaking oil from the filter head. Did what I always do, oiled and replaced the o-ring, torqued the filter cover to 25nm but for some reason leaking, maybe the o-ring or the cover. Well I thought I will replace the cover to be sure. I rang Ford and ...

Mine actually has all the indicators working both oem and bullbar, as Trublu said they bullbar indicators are wired through relays. Trublu is correct. The Australian design rule was changed a few years ago so the vehicle has only one set of indicators on the front.

Well mine has been fit for purpose for the last 11years and I have replaced the suspension initially both front and back and then replaced that suspension because it was worn out both front and rear, that shows how much work the vehicle has done. One thing I do know, is if I modify the vehicle the m...

I am not talking about the centre bearing drop, I am talking about the angle of the tail shaft being changed by wedges to roll the diff slightly and change the pinion angle.

Re: vibration noise since new rear springs
A few things to ask your self; Was the noise there before the suspension change? If it wasn’t, its not the gearbox. It’s the new suspension Well, another thing to ask; if it's the suspension, why don't I hear it all the time up to 60kph instead of cutting in only in 5th at 60kph? The engine will be...

As they said the viscous fan is good, next and cheapest thing to do is replace the thermostat. 115c would be the engine working it's bum off, even towing my van I don't see 95c that often, so something is a miss.

I have a stock at home and just replace any that give trouble. When changing my oil filter, I put a little olive oil on the thread of the ones that hold the rubber flap and they come out easily, I just wash any area where I want to remove them from.

No offence meant here but another reason is, some travel with their left foot resting very lightly on the brake pedal, I am sure everyone has followed a vehicle where the brake light goes on and off for no reason.

I see a Raptor finished the Baja 1000 in the stock class. It was the only one in it's class but just to finish is pretty good. I see 2 other vehicles in different sections of the stock class failed to finish. I see only 137 vehicles finished out of 276. https://www.drive.com.au/news/ford-ranger-rapt...

This came from a fella that tunes all sorts of diesels from small, trucks on to powerstation engines. He wasn't trying to sell me anything as mine has been tuned for years. Rangers seem to be hit and miss with vibrations - some have none and some have lots! I have changed centre bearing, UJs, had driveshaft balanced, removed dampener, tailshaft spacers.
