Re: What Insurance company do you use......recommend or not?

I wont recommend Club 4X4. There are several reasons that are all in the small print and in their disclosure documents. Firstly their full recovery insurance, you have to pay it out first, they then reimburse you. If that sounds fair think about this (a true story) you break down on the CSR heading...

Re: What Insurance company do you use......recommend or not?

Anyone got any updates on insurance? I'm currently with Shannon's aswell, but I'm lead to believe as of start of July, any renewals of new policies will no longer cover beach/water/river crossings. Something about 'reckless' driving. What they determine as reckless is unknown.

They use a machine like this to do the full flush and clean. A lot more complex than a backyard job.

Re: Transmission Magnet's/Oil Look's Terrible, Thought's ?

The transmission needs to be Up to temp, you'll never get all the fluid out of the torque converter otherwise. You might think you can DIY but in reality you'll only do a 60% job

But hey you're the one who came here for advice and doesn't want to listen to if, so good luck with that.

Re: Transmission Magnet's/Oil Look's Terrible, Thought's ?

Get it flushed (not just dropping the pan oil and refilling), that's all it may need. I serviced my tranny at 148,000km, trans guy said it looks like it hadn't been done. Looked like yours without the cruddy bits. Just had it flushed again last week at 197,000km and he said it looked nice and clean...

Re: Fuse block location

I've often thought about adding something like this, but given the battery in the Ranger already has that much hanging off the positive terminal, sometimes wires and an online fuse just take up less room.

MY17 models (with the DPF) and newer will always have less efficiency then their predecessors. Ive got a heavy ass MY17 PX2 Ranger with canopy, roof rack, bull bar, larger tyres etc etc and I'm averaging between 11.7 and 12.1 mainly driving around Melbourne. Making sure the tyre size is correct with...

So an update. I currently have zero confidence in public weightbridges. Ive used a couple of different goweigh setups. Twice in Wallan at the BP, and another this morning at the BP in Epping on cooper st. After weighing it again there was a 140kg difference. Same conditions, full tank, me and kids a...

Re: Coolant change help

Whilst i haven't done it with a ranger, generally there's a drain plug on the radiator or you just pull the bottom hose off, once drained replace the plug or the hose. As for coolant, you'll need 13L. You can buy premixed stuff from supercheap etc. Or go the expensive route and get it through Ford w...

Re: Updated Sync 3 V2.2 to newest V3.0

So got updated to v3 at the service. It still amazes me they don't do it without being asked/told to do so.
Still, the don't update the maps aswell, which is a pain because I'm stuck on ANZ1.15 when I'm fairly certain 1.17 is out.

Don't think its a purchase, it's something else that's meant to be provided by the servicing at a dealer.

Had vehicle serviced Friday, thinking they automatically update if, and checked in settings, still says v2.0 build 16074. Website says I have v3.0 which is bs, and...
