Re: Wildtrak wheel offset
Stu, General experience is that Ford will tell you you’ve voided your warranty if you drive while wearing leather trousers. Warranty voided for new rims falls into the ‘really?, really?’ category. I have changed to 285s and +30 and offset wise it’s a little wide at the rear, ok at the front. I think...

Ranger safety performance
A colleague got T-boned while out with the family in their fully loaded (camping trip) 2018 Ranger at the weekend. They were doing about 80km/h and the car rolled 4 times before coming to a stop. The car is wrecked but all the family (2 kids 2 adults) came out with one minor cut among them. All the ...

Re: 2017 wildtrak project
My tyres and rim combo pushes the tyre wall out by 35mm, made up of 10mm of tyre (285) and 25mm of rim (+30mm offset) and this sits JUST inside the guards, with no flares.

That’s a bit rich. Some 4x4 shops I do wonder what business the staff reckon they are in.
A fair bit of attitude which seems to suggest they aren’t in the business of selling.

You might be surprised. My last set of KM3s ran for 50k and still had 8mm I’d tread left when I sold the car.

Re: Ford Second Car Program
It’s actually $500 a week. You pay $500 up front then $250 a week.
We decided to treat it like a hire car so when we’ve got a weeks holiday in Port Douglas we can pick up the mustang from a local dealer rather than use Hertz or Avis.

It'll look great. I love those Fuel rims. It will not be legal though, any offset less than +30 isn't legal and last I looked all of the Fuel rims have lower offsets.

I paid out my NS Pajero after 3 years and kept it another 6 years. Paid it out for $24k kept it 6 years and then sold it for $20k which I was pretty happy with. After 4 years we paid out my wife’s Mini Cooper S cabrio for $22k and sold it for $25k. The residuals are generally very low in my experien...

I would guess that with off-sized rears, the traction control will sense the difference in rotation rates across the axle when the steering sensor is reading ‘straight ahead’ and assume one of the wheels is slipping so start to apply the traction control via the ABS system? In a GQ Patrol you could ...

My mate wrote off his $120k modified Mustang in March, he was insured with Shannons. All the mods were agreed and notified to Shannons. They argued for 4 months about the payout, they tried to get the on-board data from the car, his phone records etc etc to try and prove he was speeding or on his ph...

Cheers Craig. So far so good. Haven’t been off road yet, aiming for week after next. Looks like the lane keeping needs recalibration, and I’m not sure about the auto hi-beam. The active cruise and the parking, reversing etc is all ok with the Uneek bars. I’m feeling a bit of driveline backlash on ta...
