Re: Ranger longevity

They didn’t get off to a good start with the Continental injector debacle! That was a specific batch of bad injectors installed in some vehicles. Recalls for parts which are faulty from manufacture are not that uncommon and I don't think it has anything to do with the longevity of the engine itself.

Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

It's not actually an unbiased review, even though it pretends to be one. Like every other 4wd 24x7/4wd action video it's an advertorial and barely even disguised at that. Usually fun to watch but certainly not something to use for buying advice, I imagine that most of the audience must have this fig...

Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

2019 specs for wheelbase: Ranger XLT 3220mm Hilux SR5 3085mm Triton GLS 3000mm They've apparently converged in more recent models then. I'm not surprised on the difference to Triton, the rear wheels on that vehicle are right at the front of the tray, it is visually a lot shorter. I am surprised at t...

Perhaps an even better alternative get an OCA sack. Boe from Outback Cleanups Australia is a true hero spending his life removing rubbish from all over aus, his are tried and tested in the field and you'd be supporting real action. https://www.facebook.com/pg/outbackcleanups/community/?ref=page_inte...

Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

Nice one. Not surprised on the outcome at all having driven both. A good quantitative A/B comparison test is hard to come by so much appreciated. Youtube comments are mostly junk with the occasional insight from someone with a clue, so I pretty much knew what was going to be there even before I saw ...

Re: 2019 bi turbo wildtrak build

Was the wind deflector put on with the platform or added later? If you ran with and without does it make any difference to the wind noise and fuel consumption?

Re: Weight of Aftermarket Accessories

I've just had a Uneek bar fitted on mine. Their website is excellent as it shows the weights of everything, and updates it as you configure the options. Based on this I chose the crawler bar (40-43kg) over the commander bar (65-77kg). https://www.uneek4x4.com.au/ford/ The lightest bar would be the S...

Nearly had me worried there. No they haven't stopped selling biturbos, just the ones built with faulty injectors from a bad batch.

Re: Manual DPF Burnoff

Perhaps the ranger is a bit different to the trucks with DPF, or perhaps over time these things have improved. I would say at least on a PX3 ranger you really do not need to manual burn off ever (and anyway, you can't). I use OBDlink to watch mine (without a scan tool there is no hint even that a bu...
