Just an update. My Ranger is a write-off. I've been offered $40 less than I payed for it, but I get to keep the new wheels and tyres.

My ute, as purchased. Clean, tidy and basic. New wheels and tyres fitted. First decent drive ended like this. I hit a full grown beef cow at 100kph. Still waiting to hear from insurer.
