Re: Towing with adaptive cruise control

Aside from the question over whether the van brakes operate when cruise control slows down, the bigger issue is control. For me, towing with cruise control would only be advisable with a very light box trailer. With a bigger or heavier trailer I wouldn't use it. I want to know that when I lift my fo...

Re: Towing With 2.0 Ranger

I think the 2.0l and 10 speed are a good combo. Solo driving is great. Has plenty of get up and go when you want it, but drives really smoothly when you don't. Even towing the 3T van the drivability is good. The only area I find it lacking a little is initial take off, but once it's up a running the...

Re: Towing With 2.0 Ranger

Checked my owners manual when I first got the Ranger and I was surprised to see that it says nothing in relation to the transmission about towing. I tow a 3T caravan and tow in Sports mode as that seemed most suitable.......sharpens up the throttle, holds lower gears for longer, doesn't immediately ...

Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

And you'd be right. It's weight is generally an asset in terms of stability, and the fact that it's permanent 4WD, and it's additional torque means it gets underway better. The 2 main issues I had with it in terms of towing are that the wheelbase is too short which can allow some fore-aft pitching, ...

Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

I have a 2020 PXIII with 2.0l bi-turbo & 10-speed and I can't find any guidelines in the manual referring to D or S or manual mode etc for towing. Under Transmission it says "In Sport mode the transmission selects the optimum gear for best performance. This gear selection is typically lower than tha...

Re: My Ranger Wildtrak X- new to the Ranger club!

Just measured mine and I have 490mm from the top of the ridges on the bed liner to the under side of the the roller shutter, but that would be absolute max. Better to aim for 485mm max if possible to give some tolerance. My fridge measures 471mm, or 468mm if I take off the moulded corner guards, and...

Re: My Ranger Wildtrak X- new to the Ranger club!

Having the same issue as well. I have an almost unused Waeco CFX50 that I'm reluctant to get rid of as it is effectively brand new. It is about 470mm tall, and will fit under the shutter by itself, but only has about 20-25mm clearance so really struggling to find a suitable slide. The standard Waeco...

Re: Hello

Here's a pic from yesterday after getting some new shoes fitted. IMG_4092 copy.jpg Definitely fill the guards a little better, and should be a lot better off road than the HT's it came with. Would love to have gone bigger but need to tow a caravan with it as well so didn't want to alter the gearing ...

Hello

Just thought I post up a quick hello. Just picked up a new bi-turbo Wildtrak X a week ago. My first Ford (had a Jeep & a 200 Series before) and my first ute, and loving it so far. Rides amazingly well (just hope I don't bugger that up as I add more mods to it) and the 2.0l with the 10 speed seems to...
