Re: Ranger 3.2 litre vs 2 litre tow test.

I think the main reason the Ranger is a good tow vehicle is the long wheelbase 300mm longer than a 2000 series, i personally prefer the 3.2L as it hold gears longer and is not continually changing gears, for me it's not about getting to the top of a hill a couple of seconds earlier. Just happy with ...

Re: Transmission Temps How low is to Low

Transmission seems great no changes in operation and fuel economy is sitting on 9.7 after a run from Werribee to Sale and return which I am happy with considering the mods on it. I haven't towed yet but was trying to be somewhere between 80 and 90C, I will post temps when I do a trip. I have 2 x 15 ...

Transmission Temps How low is to Low

Hi I have a 2107 Px2 4x4 and have been seeing trans temps over 100 Deg C when towing my van 3.5T a little too hot for regular use, so i installed the thermal bypass valve and external cooler, not towing trans temps are between 60 & 70 Deg C at highway speeds 100Kph in Melbourne, My Ranger is mainly ...

Re: ALL THE THINGS WRONG WITH MY WILDTRAK AFTER TWO YEARS

Hi All
Had my 2017 XLT 4X4 Ranger twin cab for 5 months done 20,000 Klm, Nothing went wrong, if fact it has been awesome, 12,000 Klm towing a 3.2 T van with 3.6m tinnie on the roof. Performed faultlessly and the economy is excellent.
VERY HAPPY Camper.

Re: gvm-gcm upgrade

Hi Boardrider I have the Lovells upgrade and yes mine has the 7,000 gcm upgrade which I had updated on the rego papers as well, great ride when loaded a bit hard when empty. But I use it mainly loaded so for me it's fine. I had mine done in Keilor Vic by Statewide 4x4 very happy with the job done by...

BT50 impressed

Hi all Thought I would give a report on my recent trip, I must say I was very very impressed with the BT50 left Melbourne in July, travelled up the centre to Darwin and down the west coast just over 20,000 klm of faultless travel in a little over 5 months with the following setup. 2013 BT50 crew cab...

Re: Dash Removal

There are so many signal converters around hope it works out that there something that would make a camera compatible with the input on the screen.

Re: Dash Removal

Hi
Thanks for the update, yes it is an XLT screen I have. Bugger, it would be a better option to have the reverse camera in the dash.

Thanks

Dash Removal

Hi
Anyone had the part of the dash out that covers the Sat nav screen. I would like to check the video connection into the screen to see if a reverse camera can be directed to the in dash screen when in reverse, rather than the mirror option.

Re: 2WD low range Mod

I think the PK had a disconnect on the front diff as the 2010 model I had had a button on the dash which disconnected the front diff after using 4wd, I would think it was much the same as the Hilux's in the Sr5 Variant which also has the front axle disconnect. It is a backward step that the PX still...

Re: 2WD low range Mod

Yes 4wd low range is a problem on hard surfaces the low range advantage is almost negated by the stress of the transmission wind up let alone the wear it places on all drive components. Should be standard on all 4x4's. I haven't had a look under mine but with the great economy of Ranger & BT 50 get,...

Re: 2WD low range Mod

If you have ever tried backing a heavy boat or caravan on a bitumen or concrete up a hill and arround a corner in low range and feel the trasmission windup, that is where it is the best Mod you can make. it is not traction you want just low range to reduce the load on the clutch engine etc, you can ...

Re: 2WD low range Mod

I hope it can be done. I would have thought the front diff would be disconnected by either electical ot vacuum during normal driving to give better fuel economy?. If this is the case there may be a way to do it.
