I second that. I wish they gave more choices, but yes, the dark display in nicest.

Re: Another QLD newbie!
It's nice when you need a vehicle for a particular purpose, and then you find it is useful and fun for many other things as well. I bought mine for towing, not four wheel driving, but of course, it does that as well, and has provided much entertainment in that area. Plus it's my first real 4WD - pre...

Re: Ranger delivery wait times
there is plenty of Rangers in the dealers now well in Canberra anyway. Only if you compromise and take what they have in stock. Not much of a compromise for me. There were so many vehicles to choose from in Brisbane yards when I wanted my XLT (middle of this year), and a huge number had everything ...

2. Preventing rust. Took it on the beach this last weekend and had a blast but I don't want it to rust out! I did pop it through the local (supposedly freshwater) underbody wash, and then gave it an extensive hosing down when I got back home too. Well, I wonder what people think about the opinion e...

Re: Can the reverse sensers be turned off
T Jaycar is my closest supplier so will pop in next time I'm in the area however they don't seem to have 2 watt resistors so will be getting some Just parallel two resistors of twice the value. The resistance will halve and the power handling will double. Two of those 220 ohms, will parallel to giv...

Re: Can the reverse sensers be turned off
I have a 2012 XLT and the reverse sensors have always turned off when a trailer is attached. If it has an oem towbar, it should have a trailer module under the passenger seat. With the led's, I fitted resistors to my van and just use a patch lead for other trailers. Thanks Grant - I tested this las...

I wonder what else doesn't work anymore? That module is involved in the smart charging system and lots of things can no longer sense what is going on with the battery and associated systems.

This is not my first Ranger and love them especially for towing and 4 wheel driving. :D I have just retired and planned to travel. I am hoping that some one in the f...

Re: Ranger delivery wait times
Obviously waiting for delivery is a frustrating thing. I can understand. That's why I am so glad I bought straight from dealer stock, and only changed dealer installed option. My wait time was only 1 week, and I actually got it in 6 days. I still got exactly what I wanted, because different dealers ...

I just bought an XLT. I bought one straight from the dealer's stock to avoid delays, so I can understand you anxiously awaiting delivery :) As for things like tyres and suspension mods, my attitude is to try it out the way Ford deliver it first. You might be very happy withit as is. Even with the Br...

Re: First Ranger Owner
Welcome. I joined the club just a week or two ago myself. In some ways for me, it's a fantastic step back in time (in a good way). After years of east-west FWD, I have a longitudinal motor, rear wheel drive ute with leaf springs in the back. I am loving it.
What did you buy?

Perhaps - a likely possibility !Ford4wheeler wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 7:43 pm I am not aware of a factory XLT Sport variant, only the XLS Sport. Maybe the dealer added their own "description".

Re: How does the PX2/3 terminology relate to the XL/XLT and Sports?
Nothiing is certain anymore. My XLT sports does not have black door handles nor black sports bar - they are all chrome. It does have black side steps. The black alloys are 18" not 17". XLT Sport.. What do you get additional over a standard XLT ? That's the thing - I don't know, hence I started this...

I don't know who is right, but I will say they make it confusing, and it seems to change very often.
So, the unanswered part of my question... what does the PX Mark III or PX2/3 terminology mean?

How does the PX2/3 terminology relate to the XL/XLT and Sports?
Mine was specified as a 2021 Ford Ranger PX MkIII (3.2l 6 speed), so I assume that's what you all refer to as a PX3, right? They also descibed it as a XLT White 6 Speed Sports Automatic Double Cab Pick Up. I think I know what the XL/XLS/XLT differences are, but what does the Sports terminology mean....

I tow a small van, hence the electric brake controller. I will also need to sort out the trailer plug(s) etc. Probably get an Anderson plug added. Done. Had a solenoid fitted in the ignition circuit, to prevent flat batteries, and heavy cable wired to an Anderson plug. Added an Anderson plug to the...

Re: Towing with adaptive cruise control
I use adaptive cruise control when towing. Over the years, they have it worked out very well. You can always override it with the accelerator (or brakes). It brakes itself after override accel. to get back to set speed. This also makes long downhill runs easy.

Mine's a very tight fit. I have a line of insulating tape on the garage floor, down the middle ending in a T-shape. So long as I reverse with the steering straight and the towball tracking down the line, and then stop when the rear edge of the car is directly above the top of the T, then the car wi...

Re: It's coming next week
The answer is that it depends
If I remove the work bench at the far end, I have 7 metres. So it comes down to juggling positioning of workspaces and cupboards. Luckily it's a double garage that will only have the Ranger in it.
