Re: vibration noise since new rear springs

Well I'm not really sure it's top gear (6th) but it's a higher gear, it changes just on 60kph, it maybe 5th. I'll try it in S mode then I'll know which gear for sure. When in sport mode it will be different gear compared to normal, just drive it normally and when it changes at 60kph then put it in ...

Well maybe your auto should be reprogrammed if you are getting top gear doing 60kph.

Re: vibration noise since new rear springs

You should not be in top gear doing 60kph which will cause the engine to labour which also may cause vibration in your driveline, I find my ranger will sit between 4th & 5th gear at that speed.

V6 will be better for more heavy towing but will be thirsty for urban driving where the Bi Turbo will be more economical to run but still quite capable for most towing.
Both good engines whichever you choose.

Thermostat or blocked radiator will be two areas to look at. I found with some engines I worked on there might be a slight carbon build up on the piston bore creating a slight lip which prevents easy removal, I found if you work (move) the piston up and down it will eventually free itself from the bore.

No longer available sounds like BS, Ford are still building and using these 6 speed transmissions.
