Re: vibration noise since new rear springs
Well I'm not really sure it's top gear (6th) but it's a higher gear, it changes just on 60kph, it maybe 5th. I'll try it in S mode then I'll know which gear for sure. When in sport mode it will be different gear compared to normal, just drive it normally and when it changes at 60kph then put it in ...

Re: vibration noise since new rear springs
You should not be in top gear doing 60kph which will cause the engine to labour which also may cause vibration in your driveline, I find my ranger will sit between 4th & 5th gear at that speed.

Re: Sport V6 or Wildtrak Bi-turbo?
V6 will be better for more heavy towing but will be thirsty for urban driving where the Bi Turbo will be more economical to run but still quite capable for most towing.
Both good engines whichever you choose.

Thermostat or blocked radiator will be two areas to look at. With my ranger I had issues of rising temps when towing in hills, I swapped the thermostat with no improvement and tested the viscous hub which was showing ok under test, but I still doubted it was 100% ok, so I changed it which rectified ...

Re: Replacing pistons
I found with some engines I worked on there might be a slight carbon build up on the piston bore creating a slight lip which prevents easy removal, I found if you work (move) the piston up and down it will eventually free itself from the bore.

I'd be checking you brake light switch on the pedal, might be out of adjustment, loose or defective, could be a loose wire loom connection.

Peter, sounds like a transmission sensor or electronic board is failing, you be better off talking to a transmission repair/service business for advice as it sounds like your local Ford dealer are a pack of numpties who have no idea except to know how to rip you off. Thanks Trublu, how did u go with getting the wiring onto the Dash? thru where? I do a lot of towing and find the Ironman helper springs do the job for me (220Kg tow ball weight) my ranger is a hi rider and I will agree with rustfree comments if you are into 4wd driving I would not use them as you run the risk of hitting your chassis, as for harshness they will soften out after...

Re: 2012 2.2 ranger lead frame problem?
No longer available sounds like BS, Ford are still building and using these 6 speed transmissions. You will find dealerships do not want to stock parts for aging vehicles and only keep up with newer models; this is what I was told years ago by friends in dealerships. I've actually witnessed a few t...

Re: Roof rack Vs trailer
If you're only doing minor offroad distances and not difficult terrain, then a light duty trailer is an option. Trailers like you propose are not dustproof or waterproof (river crossings), though if your dirt road distances are short, that might not be a major problem. If your offroad distances are...
