Re: wiring route from rear to dash
Thanks Trublu, how did u go with getting the wiring onto the Dash? thru where? Take off the windscreen pillar cover and you will have heaps of room to bring your cable up from the lower kick panel area, once cable is through then put pillar cover back on. In my ranger I have a clip on mirror revers...

Re: wiring route from rear to dash
You can run from rear via chassis rail then enter under drivers seat which has a rubber grommet entry point then up to you dash via the sill under the plastic sill covers , the cable under the ranger can be protected by convoluted tubing and attached to chassis rail by plastic or metal cable ties. W...

Re: helper springs
I do a lot of towing and find the Ironman helper springs do the job for me (220Kg tow ball weight) my ranger is a hi rider and I will agree with rustfree comments if you are into 4wd driving I would not use them as you run the risk of hitting your chassis, as for harshness they will soften out after...

Thanks Trublu, was not aware there was a manual available for all Rangers on Fords website. Thought that wouldn't be readily available - only to Ford dealers. Will have a look at it -appreciate the feedback Yes it is real bummer when then Ford does not notify owners there is reference to adding acc...

Re: V6 Wildtrack carrying capacity warning
Hi Grant, thanks for the info but if you refer to to the last pdf brochure released from Ford for the T6.1 Ranger released for the last MY-21.75 platform and refer to the most common double cab XLT pick-up and Wildtrak variants the published payloads are 1003 kgs for the XLT in 2.0 litre engine & 9...

Re: Wiring a CB
Hi mate, keep away from the fuse box under the dash is my recommendation. Had a Ranger canopy fitted recently by a professional company that required constant power for the rear console lighting. They wouldn't touch any of the existing electrical fuse boxes and tapped directly from the battery. App...

Re: 2012 2.2 ranger lead frame problem?
No longer available sounds like BS, Ford are still building and using these 6 speed transmissions. You will find dealerships do not want to stock parts for aging vehicles and only keep up with newer models; this is what I was told years ago by friends in dealerships. I've actually witnessed a few t...

Re: Roof rack Vs trailer
Could you elaborate on trailer problems? You mean even a brand new one can breakdown ? Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk It would be better if you elaborate bit more as to what terrain you intend to travel, light trailer will be ok for any dirt road that any 2wd vehicle can traverse, if you inten...

Re: Roof rack Vs trailer
If you're only doing minor offroad distances and not difficult terrain, then a light duty trailer is an option. Trailers like you propose are not dustproof or waterproof (river crossings), though if your dirt road distances are short, that might not be a major problem. If your offroad distances are...

Re: 2012 2.2 ranger lead frame problem?

Re: Can the reverse sensers be turned off
I have a 2012 XLT and the reverse sensors have always turned off when a trailer is attached. If it has an oem towbar, it should have a trailer module under the passenger seat. With the led's, I fitted resistors to my van and just use a patch lead for other trailers. Thanks Grant - I tested this las...
