Cannot help you with steel snorkel however never seen any plastic snorkels fade unless it was some ridiculously cheap chinese brand, I have an Iron Man brand that still looks good after being installed ten years ago.

Re: Ranger coolant temperature

Thermostat or blocked radiator will be two areas to look at. With my ranger I had issues of rising temps when towing in hills, I swapped the thermostat with no improvement and tested the viscous hub which was showing ok under test, but I still doubted it was 100% ok, so I changed it which rectified ...

I found with some engines I worked on there might be a slight carbon build up on the piston bore creating a slight lip which prevents easy removal, I found if you work (move) the piston up and down it will eventually free itself from the bore.

I'd be checking you brake light switch on the pedal, might be out of adjustment, loose or defective, could be a loose wire loom connection.

Thanks Trublu, how did u go with getting the wiring onto the Dash? thru where? You can run from rear via chassis rail then enter under drivers seat which has a rubber grommet entry point then up to you dash via the sill under the plastic sill covers , the cable under the ranger can be protected by convoluted tubing and attached to chassis rail by plastic or metal cable ties. No longer available sounds like BS, Ford are still building and using these 6 speed transmissions. You will find dealerships do not want to stock parts for aging vehicles and only keep up with newer models; this is what I was told years ago by friends in dealerships. I've actually witnessed a few t...
