Re: Long idle running

Cylinder bore glazing was mostly limited to very high compression diesels that had very high compression ratios of 20:1 or more. Turbo diesels usually have compression ratios of around 16:1. The turbo boosts this substantially when the engine is running at high speed, but it does not boost very much...

My 2015 PX1 XLT has the one valve. I think it was deleted for a few years then Ford started to fit them again. It is very necessary in my opinion.

Check with your Ford dealer & see if you can get one.

I agree with Gof379842. Generally speaking to much toe in always wears the outside of the LH front tyre. This is due to road camber being sloped off to the left, so when driving you need to compensate for the camber wanting to drift the vehicle off to the left, by turning the steering wheel slightly...

Hi & welcome to the Forum.

2013/2014 models would be PX1. Here in Australia the PX2 was not released until about mid 2015.

There are no major problems that I am aware of, but just get it well checked over my a mechanic if you can.

Are you sure you have the red lead going to the + positive terminal & the black lead going to the - negative terminal of the battery you are trying to charge. If you have reversed the connections the charger may have reverse polarity protection, so it will not charge.

Welcome. The PK Rangers had the Mazda 3.0 litre diesel engine, if yours is the 3.0. This was a carry over from the days when Ford owned a large percentage of Mazda. If Ford have the fuel analysed, which is very likely & they find additives like 2 stroke oil in it, then the warranty claim will be denied, as Ford state in the owners manu...

The air cleaner air box should have a drain valve on it, if you have a late model Ranger & it should not be sealed off.

Was the the 2nd hand bar you bought already fitted with the reversing sensors. If so perhaps they were not working properly for the previous owner.

You could also change your original bent bar's sensors over to the newly fitted 2nd hand bar.

It certainly looks like the dealer may not have filled it properly at the last service. You could have an oil leak so check for leaks around & under the engine. Being 1.2 litres down should not cause a problem. The engine should not use 1.2l of oil in 2000 km. Diesel engine oil consumption is about ...
