First New Car, Perth Based
First New Car, Perth Based
Hi,
Bought this thing called a Ford Ranger XLT.
Went with the 3.2l Auto. First new car, first auto, first Ford.
800km in and love it. Had great adventures with 2 previous Holden Rodeos' but looking forward to see how this goes. Fun times hope to doc it here.
Got it straight up with Summit bar, OME lift, Poly Long Range Tank, Safari Snorkel.
Still adding gear to make it a good general purpose family tourer.
Small issues with radar (block sensor alerts) but overall positive buying experience.

Welcome to the Rangerhood mate !
Nice looking ute - you will love it, they are a great vehicle !
And you couldn't have bought a better car to drive across the " treeless plain " to the annual 2020 Ranger Meet-up weekend
Cheers

Hey Postcard, welcome mate.
Where abouts in Perth, NOR or SOR?
Have a look at Linc's build thread http://www.newranger.net/forums/viewtop ... &start=880 as he had an issue with his Safari Snorkel. Worth having a look to make sure it was done properly.
Cheers

Hi, yeah checked it out. Found a loose hose clamp on engine side but the mod on intake side all looks sweet. Appreciate the heads up, cheers.

It would cost $2k in fuel, better to just donate the money haha!!!
Welcome postcard. I thought there was some sort of fix for the radar, would have thought it was sorted by now though. Gotta love an alloy tray, super practical. Any other plans for the tray?

Hi,
Tray will eventually have frame and canvas for a trip around the Oz, but that big trip is years away. Toolbox and work lights set up now. Toolbox holds solar controller and battery amongst other things.
Radar problem was sorted by peeps who fitted Bullbar. A young bloke learning his trade didn't get it right. All sorted, just finished a Bridgetown trip with no problems. Which is a load off tbh. Buying first new car and thinking you going to have problems with Ford service department was not a good feeling.
Cheers

Hey Butch,
If you go to a larger scale map, the distance is even closer.
