CLUTCH REPLACEMENT

Post by sinbad »

I have a 2013 PX Ranger done around 145000KMS just wondering when I should be looking to replace the clutch now or how long I should let it go before I do. Also what sort of costs would I be looking at. TIA

It would certainly depend on how you drive it... and it the main seal has leaked.

Mine is over 150k and still on the factory clutch.

I'm the only one that drives it, she's done a lot of highway km, where it goes into 6th and sits there for hours and minimal towing. Off road I pick a low gear and don't ride the clutch.

My last wagon I changed the clutch at 175k because I was heading on a desert trip and did it for peace of mind, mechanic said it had a fair bit of life in it.

So, with 145k on yours and it still working fine, I'd probably start saving for a new one, but its probably got a bit of life in it yet.
A quick google you're looking at $1k for just a clutch or around $2k for a hduty clutch and a flywheel.
Probably looking at around $1k to fit it.
