Exhaust reccomendations
Exhaust reccomendations
So i tried using the search bar but surprised to find nothing on the topic, either i dont know how to use the search bar or no one has asked about this. Anyways i was wondering if anyones put an exhaust system on their ranger? If so which system did you go for and how did you like the sound?. I seen DDP make a full system for $600 which seems like a pretty damn good price. I seen a dude with this system on youtube and it sounded pretty tough, almost like a v8.

You don’t learn paying someone to do it!

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
All the exhaust souns similar. A 3 inch system without mufflers sounds similar to a factory system with a muffler delete. No performance gain by fitting an exhaust

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Seems you have a PX2. With or without dpf? If you have a dpf you're wasting your time. And exhaust will give you barely any sound note at all.Ugasu wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 10:03 am So i tried using the search bar but surprised to find nothing on the topic, either i dont know how to use the search bar or no one has asked about this. Also, a cheap exhaust isn't necessarily a good exhaust. Materials used, how it's bent, how it's welded, all effect its performance.

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Yep px2 with no dpf. Their site says mandrel bent stainless steel sounds half decent.
Re: Exhaust reccomendations
No issues with the PPD system on my PX2/non DPF rig.
It’s a CAT system, along with a small hotdog/resonator. Nice pipes, and good welds. SHINY too!
Like Linc said, no performance gain, but the note is nice enough…and no drone.
It was an impulse ‘lockdown blues’ buy, but I’m happy…for now!

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
I got a 3 inch system with a high flow cat and hotdog resonator, dual side exit behind the driver rear tire.
Sounds nice and angry. Not at all offensive inside the cabin.
No performance gain. But Then I did oversized intercooler with aluminium pipes. Then got the chip done. This is how they should have come out of the factory.

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Well heres a reason i went to a after market exhaust its less weight and i waited to buy a second hand one.
Weight is your enemy people have learn this the hard way from what I see in these builds, getting away from it all doesn't mean taking it all with you.

Re: Exhaust reccomendations

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
This is the exact system. About 3 yrs old now, hasn’t missed a beat. Sounds good. Came with everything required to fit it. Took about 2hrs to fit.

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Out of interest what actual weight did you lose with the exhaust change over?

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
I went with a Playtime 3" straight through. Just a cat and no mufflers.
It's loud on the outside but pretty good when cruising. The wind noise is louder.

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
I didn't weigh it but side by side picking them up its noticeable I was told this by another Ranger owner and saw the second hand one for sale so i bought it as Ive got some upgrades planned

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Man if you're struggling for reasons to save a couple of kg, you've got bigger issues than changing an exhaust

Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Every kg counts. The factory muff is huge, an aftermarket unit is considerably smaller.
Re: Exhaust reccomendations
Well Im pretty sure Ive got little to worry about when it comes to vehicle weight Im saving weight everywhere.Brente1982 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:31 pm Man if you're struggling for reasons to save a couple of kg, you've got bigger issues than changing an exhaust![]()
