wiring into canopy from roof racks

Post by saum2 »

Hi New Member, After some information on wiring a solar panel on roof racks to inside canopy controller and battery. New Ranger with ford lowline canopy, didn't want to drill unnecessary holes so hoping there are some grommets that I could use to push through the wiring from above into the rear tub that has a liner via the canopy or other. The internal front window is hinged but I'm hoping there's another access. All help appreciated.

Use a 16mm holesaw and 16mm poly gland, you will just have to relieve the hole a little with a round file. Use 16 x 12mm pvc duct and attach with 10 or 12mm wide double sided tape to carry the cable. Make sure your cable will fit in the duct first.

If you haven't used a holesaw before our some masking tape over where you going to drill the hole an drill a 6mm pilot hole first before drill with the holesaw.

Thanks, yes I thought a hole saw would be the go as i couldn't find any likely spots with grommets.
