vibration

Post by wightman »

Hey all, been bashing my head with this one.
2015 px1 3.2 ranger auto 4wd (only owned it for 3 months)
been chasing vibration issues, I seem to fix one then another one pops up.
back story.
so far I've replaced U/J's and centre bearing. added spacer kit to centre bearing. fix one vibration
removed driveshaft dampener. fix another vibration

now I've got another one vibration pop up. on slight acceleration and deacceleration when in 5-6th at low revs (1200-1800rpm) at 65-80kph I get a vibration and a humming noise.

any ideas would be great.

Welcome.

I see you just joined today so maybe hadn’t seen the search function up the top right hand corner.

Maybe try reading through dome of these previous threads.

search.php?keywords=Vibration

I’m not sure what accessories etc you have fitted to the Ute but some reading might help.

Cheers, DJ

Rangers seem to be hit and miss with vibrations - some have none and some have lots! I have changed centre bearing, UJs, had driveshaft balanced, removed dampener, tailshaft spacers. They all get rid of a vibration but soon enough another one pops up. I gave up and just put up with it, only a small vibration that hasn't gotten any worse!

Someone here replaced their UJs with double carden joints with great success. Was a bit of an exercise from memory.

Wightman, Search for Gof, he is the one who built the double carden tail shaft
