Smart Alternator shunt
Anyone tell me of any issues with unplugging the battery shunt to cancel the Smart Alternator charging to the battery. I realize the smart alternator is for fuel saving but not so good for a dual battery set up. XLT 2022 model.

Just get a ford dealer to enable dual battery mode and the job is done properly.

What else is linked to the shunt within the vehicles system?
You could do few things. As above get Ford to enable duel battery mode. Some dealers will say it can't be done, some might charge you and some will just do it for you at a service.
Buy yourself a suitable OBD2 scanner and with Forscan change it yourself, at least this way you can look at and change things yourself when you get more confident.
Or install a compatible dcdc charger, which could also give you a solar charging input for solar panels when and if you want.
