Lookn good.
Thanks Rob 351. I can't wait to have it finished... Chassis being painted this afternoon.

White Wildtrak 2014 & Ute Tub Trailer Build

Post by aja88 »

Had to drop off some of those inner guard plastic screws, so took a couple more photo's...

First one is where we will mount the spare wheel at front. They were fabricating the support when I was there.

Second one is the chassis showing the 'brackets' that give us the Tub height I wanted. We are also going to mount a water tank under the chassis forward of the axle, one of the reasons they put additional cross bars on the chassis.

Unpacked the roof top tent. Was really easy attaching the mounting rails. Impressed with the quality and can't wait to attach it to the trailer and try it out. This one is light grey in colour, will post pic of it set up next week when it's been installed.

sweet looking ute and trailer by the way

Thanks...Just tell your supplier you need hubs to fit 6X139.7 PCD, for a Ford PX Ranger. I would think you need check if the wheel diameter will fit (in the wheel arch of your trailer), as well as the offset (so they don't sit outside the guard) doesn't cause a problem. Boat trailers tend to use smaller (15 inch ?) wheels. Unless you are familiar with these things I would probably go to a trailer place ask them if the alloys to match your Ranger will fit, and if so how much to do it for you. I would guess under $ 200 as the hubs are $70 ish. Hope that helps.

Who is doing the tonneau? Hard or soft? Soft I am guessing with those bars.

I think our trailers are going to be very similar.

Just getting a soft one made to start with, marine upholsterer who used to work on my boat (when I had one..).

Will get a photo of it behind my Ranger after I get it back tomorrow...

Thanks Rob. Weatherman predicting we are going to see the wettest couple of days in August since 2010 here in QLD. My lawns need it, not to mention will be great to get the tanks full again as we are not on town water where I live.

More photo's early next week...

Nope, paint chips/flakes (white, grey & black), with epoxy coating. Nothing stains it, just wipe anything off. Our garage is also workshop/gym so we decided to put a nice floor in.

This is a video on the way its done : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mg5BBwxvUo

Stoneguard of sorts is essential. Seen some impressive damage on metal on trailers. Will take a small stone on Birdsville road to make a hole in the rooftop tent and cover. Looks neat A :-)

There is a stoneguard resembling a trampoline matt that also helps for the mud . Helps for those stones deflected on to the canopy glass or tublid.

Would also prevent stones bouncing of your spare into the back of your car.

Aj you are easy. We suggest and you spend :-) I dont know which one will be best for your use. I made a horizontal type going under the drawbar from a trampoline matt and used it only on hunting trips when we got to the unsealed roads to protect the bike trailer. Your trailer looks so nice you will need a pro job.
