Things are going well, I've actually seen you driving a few times on the freeway and down cross roads.
Cheers for the links.

What lights are you talking about - the spotties or the work lights ?
The spotties - I'm very very happy with them but I have been talking to the owner of SA LED Lighting who I got those 160 watt lights off and I'm going to get their new 8 inch 210 watt ones - they are a brighter and with a new reflector design give a slightly narrower / longer beam !
Will put the old spotties on my Mitsubishi Delica campervan I'm slowly building up - Im still thinking about taking that on the Border Track trip in June - not quite as comfortable as the Ranger and not quite as good on fuel as the Ranger but it can carry more sarsaparillas in the back
Cheers

Hi Gazz was talking about the spotlights but if you do the trip in the Delica I will just have to take your word on how good they are
Ps By the way butch we should be happy it's not a Pajero cos we all know what pajero means in Spanish

Re: Danger's Metro Grey Space Cab
Greetings all
As much as I would like to take the Delica, I can't orginise a trip for the good folk on here and not take the mighty Ranger. I've had the Delica for three years but it's only been going for one of those three ( 6 months before the motor went bang and the last 6 months ) - it's just had an engine transplant, 2 inch lift, new radiator, new hoses belts etc, new rear main seal, alloy coolant bottle along with quite a few other goodies. It drives great and I love it but I haven't got to try it off the black stuff yet - maybe next year I will orginise another trip and give it a go !
Yes - I had a mate who came on many trips with us in his Pajero and he was affectionately called Wayne Kerr
Cheers

Needs a 150000km celebration detail I think Danger. If it wasn't for the kms on the dash I would think it was mine, the life of a work ute

Howdy alpha
It got a 100,000 celebratory detail so it can wait for 200,000 k's for the next one !
The outside gets a more regular clean than the inside - I'm just happy it's still going strong touch wood ( touching my fat head as I say that
)

Hey trublu - I must have been kissed on the d..k by a fairy when I was younger coz I don't think I've ever owned a lemon or not even close for that matter !trublu wrote:Still going strong,
It's still going as good as the day I got it - well I should say it's going better really as it wasn't till about 50k it started loosening up and just keeps on performing faultlessly

You'll clock a few up on your big trip in a few months - hopefully trouble free ones !!trublu wrote: I have a lot of k's to go to catch yours.

That sux mate - but not your fault !!lincolnland wrote: i got the call today that my rig should be ready shortly. Many weeks in many pieces and only 16000km or so on the clock.
There's a lot of luck involved with new cars and doesn't matter what make either - I know half a dozen blokes that have bought the "unbreakable Hilux" over the last few years and all they did was
"BREAK BIGTIME"
Hopefully yours will get sorted soon and give you many many years of trouble free motoring

All the best buddy

Re: Danger's Metro Grey Space Cab
Hey danger, just wondering what kind of preventative maintenance you do and at what intervals? Do you just service as per the service guide?
I’m coming up to 190,000km and going strong but plan to keep it for a few years so would like to keep it going sweet. I’m happy to spend the $$$ if it keeps me on the road.

Re: Danger's Metro Grey Space Cab
Howdy - just the regular 15k logbook servicing ! Whilst I do a fair bit of towing it's not overly heavy but at 150k I had the transmission fluid and filter changed and the mechanic said considering how I work my vehicles the fluid was still in pretty good condition.jstanovic wrote:Hey danger, just wondering what kind of preventative maintenance you do and at what intervals? I would highly recommend changing the serpentine belt and tensioner pulley before 200,000 - mine let go at 206,000 k's.
I may have just been lucky with all the vehicles I've owned but a couple things I do is I try to avoid very short trips requiring stopping and starting before the engine reaches full operating temperature and I absolutely hate rattles and noises in the car or under the bonnet - so if something is rattling or noisy, even ever so quietly I will fix it asap ! Rattles and noises mean something is loose or not right and will cause you trouble in the future !
Still on the original brake pads but will be changing them very soon !
Cheers and good luck

Re: Danger's Metro Grey Space Cab
Cheers for that. I will add serpentine belt to my list at the 200,000km service.

Make sure you change the tensioner pulley as well - I'm pretty sure it is the pulley that seizes causing the belt to disintegrate !jstanovic wrote: I will add serpentine belt to my list at the 200,000km service.

It's all good mate - nothing like a bit of fun and frivolity on a 4wd trip - even tho there are a few boring members on here without a sense of humour that would frown upon such activitiesbutch. wrote:Sozz mate ...but I'm still smiling.....until next time....

Can't wait to use that exact same trick on someone myself one day - it's an absolute pearler !!!
