Sliewy's PNG XLT

Post by sliewy »

Hi guys,

Have enjoyed checking out everyone's Rangers. I posted an earlier post in the Ranger Build Ups section but Show n Shine seems to receive more interaction.

Thought I'd put up a few more pics of my Metro Grey XLT. I live in Papua New Guinea, and thanks to high excise on vehicles, our XLTs come with lower specs than in Oz. For example, they come without side steps or sports bar and only a 4.2" screen.

I've had to either ship in or check in most of my accessories on flights as we either can't get them here or they cost an arm and a leg.

GPS tracking device installed with SOS button - a must for any expatriate living in PNG
8 mil security tint - supposedly protects from smash and grabs
18x10.5 +15 Lenso Project D Spec K wheels with 285/60 Dunlop Grandtrek AT3 tyres
Seat covers from Global Automotive Accessories
3" nudge bar and 4" side steps
3" DEA turbo back exhaust with cat, muffler and twin tip side exit
4" snorkel - Fabulous Fabrications in Brisbane
K&N air filter
EZdown tailgate damper
Raptor style grille
Colour coded rear bumper

I'm still researching options to connect an integrated tailgate camera into the 4.2" screen. I know there are a few suppliers in Oz. Anyone done this before?
Also considering a small lift and a sports bar (although I'm not sure how I'll go checking that in on a flight)

The lines on the snorkel look good from the side, seem to follow the windscreen rake nicely. Got any shots of it front on. Some of these snorkels look very average for mine, not following vehicle lines very well and appear a bit amateurish build wise. This would be one of the better ones I have seen. Like the dual exhaust tips as well, great looking rig.

Cheers guys.

The twin tips are probably my favourite mod!

We just fitted the snorkel last weekend. It was a bit daunting cutting the hole out though! Here's the front pic that I have.

Been a while since I posted. Here's a photo of my Ranger in PNG today. A popular picnic spot called Crystal Rapids, about 40 minutes out of Port Moresby, near where the Kokoda Track ends.

Since my last post

2" strut spacer and shackle lift
20" Lenso Zeus Z01 rims wrapped in 305/55R20 Nitto Terra Grapplers
Black sports bar
Integrated reverse camera into dashboard screen

Few more cosmetic mods in the pipeline. Will update in a couple of weeks. Image

Looks sweet mate. I just ordered the same wheels for my PX1. Very similar looking car, but the front end looks much better on the PX2's...
