in a coupler weeks and after 16 years of hilux service from Toyota it'll be a ford fleet. hope the longer term reliability is as good as the hilux and assume the bugs are ironed out by now in the rangers. if the rangers are in the workshop to frequently they won't be on the team for too long! looking forward to the my17 xls limited though :)

need to get a new set of drawers. need a trademan depth 300mm twin drawer system similar to the now out of business black widow drawer system. Have used black widow drawers for over 10years but can't buy them anymore. I know TJM bought the tooling and design but their quote today says they do NOT manufacture the 300mm deep drawers anymore. need the depth to house some specialist tools. what are people's using these days? any recommendations or opinions are really appreciated. cheers y'all

Hmmm, now where did I see a set of Black Widow drawers recently?! :P

Sorry mate can't help you there, but a quick search brought these guys up: http://www.bestoffroad.net.au/

I have no idea what the quality is like, but they look versatile enough to produce what you want and are Melbourne based. Might be worth a call and/or a drive down to check them out.

sourced the original owners of black widow draw systems and have order a set. exact same as black widow but with a different name. still located in new gisborne so all good. black widow went bust but have opened under a different trading name. I'll post details of the new name and website for those that may want to source black widow gear. cheers

The days approaching! Should have the new xls utes on Thursday. Just got back from a quick inspection at tjm. Added in the lightforce switch panel to both vehicles to power up the charging gear in the tub. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Looking ok. Bit low for my liking and tyres to small but will change them once these are worn. Cheers

Got the new work hack home today :P
Got the rhino hd racks fitted canopy on and the rest is as previously described. Way too low for my liking. Tomorrow is black widow drawer system and equipment locker installation, then uhf and aerial. Certainly wont stay clean for very long! Cheers

Had the 3000km service done this week. No issues. Enabled dual battery mode. The next day wanted to use the 230v socket. Plugged in some gear from work to charge. Indicator light was flashing. Checked the manual says its got a fault code. Went back to dealer who told me common fault with my17 models , charging 230v module needs replacing and has been ordered. Bit disappointing... but still love the xls.

My tip- if you havent tested your sockets, givem a test preferably at the dealer! Cheers y'all

had the 230v module replaced today under warranty so all fixed however, after picking it up and driving away the drivers side window now doesn't do auto up and auto down. pain in the ar5e. back to the dealer again tomoz to get it looked at. annoying coz their were no window issues when I dropped it off this morning. :(

I had the same issue when I was having flat battery issues. It happens when the battery is disconnected apparently. I found this in another thread - might be worth a shot:

"...operated the drivers window switch all the way down and while it was down activated the switch 5 times to go down, then activated to go all the way up and while it was closed activated the switch up 5 times. This seemed to work as a reset somewhere because after doing that all windows operate normally again."

Good luck!

yeah looks like xls has the under bonnet insulation. I actually haven't checked but just looked at the pic after you asked. lol. not sure what red stuff your referring to!?

I did notice today when driving the loan xls ranger from ford that it had a heap of different menus and options to scroll through on the dash menu. too many to remember but very different from my xls. cheers

Thought for a minute you had installed the bulbar stubbie holder on the front one, but then realised it was just a strategically placed fence post

Great to hear mate!

I can't take the credit though. When I was having the same issue Stefs-cruiser mentioned in my thread that it wasn't a component failure, it just needed to be reset. So I did some searching and found pbowdo's post in this thread:

Just reinforces what an awesome forum this is!

Definitely. Better than waiting at the dealer while they stuff around. Bit annoyed that they disconnected the battery but then didnt reset the items that require resetting after the batts be disconnected. Anyway all fixed happy days! Cheers

Im a bit surprised that there are features that need to be reset after disconnecting the battery...
I can understand the clock might need to be updated, or the radio code (if there is one) being required, but deep down, "not for owner to play with" type features shouldnt need to be reset.
