In between bars I ran a stock bumper which was literally zip tied on for 2 months with a bit of er.. engineering with the grinder to allow the 35's to turn without munching it..

Great shots mix,

Top clarity and good angles and because this year is dedicated to the 5th and 7th of May at you guessed it, The Bend, then your score is a credible 5/7!!!!
Cheers.

Not bad to be honest mate. The exhaust and I-drive make it spritely enough and easy to drive.
Little more on fuel but that's to be expected.

very cool looking egt and boost gauges.. whats the "wooble" factor like off road considering the confined mounting through that dash switch slot?

Pretty firm as it has a captive stud in the base with a C shaped bracket that threads up with a wing nut behind the dash.

Hi guys,

I've been quiet for a while but manged to get out for an awesome day trip with Evo from the LROR / Aussie Four Wheelers channels on Youtube.
We met up in the Lithgow / Newennes Plains area at the Zig Zag Railway carpark.
Part 1 has recently been uploaded and part 2 will be up in a few weeks.

Vid link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYwEax4Nz8Y

Tracks we covered were; Wombat Holes, Powerlines Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 3 had been recently dozed and was as smooth as a freeway onramp
After lunch we went continued up the hill to Moonrock which was where part finishes on the vid.
We then cut across from part of Sunnyside tack through the water sub station plant and down to Pipeline Track.
We came across a Thai bloke in a very fresh looking Yellow FJ Cruiser 2/3rd's the way up Pipeline and he'd done surprisingly well with a 2" lift, 31" AT's at 25psi plus unscathed factory side steps..! He tagged along for the remainder and did a remarkably good job for such a stock'ish fourby.
Finished up with a quick pinch up to one of the summit lookouts and called it a day.
Headed back down the Gloworm Tunnel Rd and Old Bells Line Rd to air up back at the Zig Zag carpark.

The Ranger stood up to the test and barwork, sliders and bashplates all got a hammering..!
No signs of dents or bending on the 4mm Bushskinz plates either -awesome stuff.
Tailshaft got a few good scrapes and the factory transfer case stone guard was bent up onto the TFC sending a bit of reverb through the body.
Aquired some grit and stones in one of the front calipers so that's the annoying squeaking you'll hear after the 1st mud hole.
I think I'll be adding on a few other bash plates and guards before the new year. TFC, Fuel tank and rear diff guards are on the wish list.
Mickey ATZ's did awesome on the rocks, in the mud and on the dry sandy tracks. Ran them at 18psi. Evo dropped his to 15psi in his 110 Defender.

Filming was great with a dual perspective happening and use of a phone gimbal to smooth out the vision being captured.
I must say Evo and his partner Amanda were probably the nicest people I'd met in a while from a 1st encounter.

They've got some awesome vids on their channels - I recommend checking 'em out...!

Nice to see your not afraid to push your ranger hard.
Iv seen quite a few of the Aussie Four Wheeler videos. Quite entertaining but at the same time their rigs are very modified so they make everything look easy.
I prefer to watch normal rigs bash and crash there way through. Alot more entertaining in my opinion haha.
Where are you located Mike? Sydney?

Ta mate, built it to go places and protected it underneath for the expected hammering.
I'm Vic based and was up in Newy for a week off with the boy and missus.
Part 2 will show some good scrapes and belts underneath in a few weeks
Yeah they make stuff look easy'ish with the big mods and 40" Treps aye. Good footage though.
Evo's 110 Defender was on 35's and twin lockers, kept up with it apart from a couple of lines that I didn't want to do door panels on.

Apart from all my accessories and the basic lift and wheels Il probably keep my engine and everything else stock so I don't lose driveability on the road.
After last Sunday trip though I may just get a front locker. Things nearly turned south lol.
Have you heard about the High Country trip in Nov Mike?

It was a noticeable change as I'd lifted the ute and fitted the MR Matrix shocks at the same time too.
If I could describe it best, it drove like a well setup boat - in a good way. Floated over washouts and bumps with a bit of extra body roll. Having driven a Sierra with SPOA and no swaybar in the past, it handled like a dream.

I spoke to them recently and Kieran is very close to releasing it, just needed some fine tuning in the final design.
If you can't wait, I'd suggest the Superior Engineering one as that looks the biz.

You could take it out and try it. If you don't like the handling, bolt it back in.
There are adjustable swaybars on the market too which might be a good middle ground option for you perhaps.
I'd like to see a swaybar quick or remote disconnect kit come out for Rangers like the Rubicon's have.

Re the November trip, I'd hope to have the property up to speed here so I get a leave pass from the missus

I might look into those adjustable sway bars then. I was looking for a disconnect kit but like you say none on the market.
I went out wheeling with a Rubicon on Sunday and got some good comparison footage rock crawling up this steep near suicidal hill.
The Rubicon did it alot easier which I hate to admit.
Front and rear locker, shorter wheel base, crawler gears, better articulation and approx 500kg less weight than me.
