All good with the tyres and Car. It's holding up well to all the abuse.
Copped a dent in the door after driving over the end of a large stick which made it swing up. That always happens to me. Got 3 dents on the car from that lol.

Why can't I have a car that stays looking good and go 4wheeling.
Can't I have both lol.

The Sliders do a good job.
You got to get on that High Country weekend so I can check out how good your 35s go with the mods you have done.
Also when your not looking I might swap out your number plate lol.

If I'm able to go in Nov, I'll have an excuse to bolt the gumboots on again

So I found what had been a squeak and rattle upon startup during the week yesterday morning just casually siiting on top of the turbo housing...
Both mounts sheared off. If anyone has or knows of one 'lying around' happy to buy or trade etc.
Going to have this one welded back on for now

Coupla pics of the bus before I went away to Sheepyard Flat over the Aust Day weekend.
Great spot for a relax and surprisingly not shoulder to shoulder with other campers etc.
Got a great position on the river boundary side to the LHS of the bridge as you come into the grounds about 50-80m down.
Rained a couple of times in big downpours but was hot the rest of the time. Will head up again at Easter in a different spot perhaps to mix it up.
Unfortunatley no wheeling was partaken in as it was all full day trips to get to anything worthwhile apparently.
Simex got a run for the 1st time in 12 months just for fun and tried out some new gear like a Uni Filter snorkel head sock, NOCO GB70 12v power pack and a mates 40L Engel.
Took the bosses GIC camper which was good once it was set up, took a while being a first timer.. lol

After watching mixrig vid I finally decided to remove my front sway bar too and now if this ranger had his removed it would not have that left wheel so high in the air and also so feels so much safer to drive off road as you get very little see sawing effect even the wife likes how it is now hated it before off road, mine has been off for a few thousand Ks now and I've done lots of hi way and towing, best thing you can change i think.

@MLU, what are your thoughts on the Uneek4x4 sliders? They seem to get mixed opinions but I'm tossing up between Uneek and Legendex, keen to get first-hand experience opinion.

I would check with Uneek if they have re-designed them as the current version have caused damage to my sills and others. There are dents above each bracket where they have flexed up.

How do these idiots get dumb ideas like that into production surely the main idea is to not
damage the sills

I believe there is a re-design coming for the Uneek sliders to eliminate this issue. Has something to do with the front bracket.
Most of the time they've been fine but I have have experienced similar sill dents to Mick from upward movement through decent underside hits and looking forward to the re-design.
If you've had issues with them, best to send an email to Uneek so they have you on file to contact once new ones are ready.
I like them for the neat shape and footplate etc and that they're airbag compliant. I'd hold off till the new ones are produced and get them if you have time to wait.

Some pics of the GIC camper in various configurations that I borrowed set up... she's a big footprint when in McMansion mode
I did like the powered side of it with a water pump & 2 taps, internal led lighting, external and internal 12V outlets.
Connected my new Noco GB70 12V power pack via Anderson plug and she was good to go. Can run off the vehicle as well but I wanted it to run standalone.
Still think I'd prefer a hardfloor camper like a Tvan or Kimberly Kamper for ease of setup & pack down. Definitley a 2 person job on this one.

MLU wrote:Hi guys,

I've been quiet for a while but manged to get out for an awesome day trip with Evo from the LROR / Aussie Four Wheelers channels on Youtube.
We met up in the Lithgow / Newennes Plains area at the Zig Zag Railway carpark.
Part 1 has recently been uploaded and part 2 will be up in a few weeks.

Vid link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYwEax4Nz8Y

Tracks we covered were; Wombat Holes, Powerlines Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 3 had been recently dozed and was as smooth as a freeway onramp
After lunch we went continued up the hill to Moonrock which was where part finishes on the vid.
We then cut across from part of Sunnyside tack through the water sub station plant and down to Pipeline Track.
We came across a Thai bloke in a very fresh looking Yellow FJ Cruiser 2/3rd's the way up Pipeline and he'd done surprisingly well with a 2" lift, 31" AT's at 25psi plus unscathed factory side steps..! He tagged along for the remainder and did a remarkably good job for such a stock'ish fourby.
Finished up with a quick pinch up to one of the summit lookouts and called it a day.
Headed back down the Gloworm Tunnel Rd and Old Bells Line Rd to air up back at the Zig Zag carpark.

The Ranger stood up to the test and barwork, sliders and bashplates all got a hammering..!
No signs of dents or bending on the 4mm Bushskinz plates either -awesome stuff.
Tailshaft got a few good scrapes and the factory transfer case stone guard was bent up onto the TFC sending a bit of reverb through the body.
Aquired some grit and stones in one of the front calipers so that's the annoying squeaking you'll hear after the 1st mud hole.
I think I'll be adding on a few other bash plates and guards before the new year. TFC, Fuel tank and rear diff guards are on the wish list.
Mickey ATZ's did awesome on the rocks, in the mud and on the dry sandy tracks. Ran them at 18psi. Evo dropped his to 15psi in his 110 Defender.

Filming was great with a dual perspective happening and use of a phone gimbal to smooth out the vision being captured.
I must say Evo and his partner Amanda were probably the nicest people I'd met in a while from a 1st encounter.

They've got some awesome vids on their channels - I recommend checking 'em out...!

G'day mate,

I haven't been on here for ages, so replying to your question from Nov last year in May... :?
No true speed adjustment done on factory speedo, it was an aftermarket Head Up Display unit that had adjustment in it.
On 35's I'm about 13% out. So at 90kph on the dash I'm about right on 100kph real world.
I use a Speedo/ Dashcam app now on my phone instead as the Head Up Display unit kept creating fault codes for some reason.

Once I get clear of some current mechanical repair costs I'll be getting the Superior Engineering ones as they look to be the best design I've seen so far.
There's some new ones by Rhino but I think the Superior ones are still the go.

This one is the 80 series we went with on 35's. It did really well for a relatively stock setup other than suspension and tyres. 8-)
My handheld gimbal decided to 'look down' at the wrong moment just as he dropped in on the step...

Been a while since I've posted on here, however, thought I would share a few updates on the bus over the last few months..!

So back in March, my fan clutch and pulley were up for changeover and the pulley was chattering it's teeth bearing noise wise...

I did a some research on what could be done with upgrading to a thermo-fan setup and deleting the belt driven fan altogether... :o

So I went full commitment into it with helpful technical advice from Davies Craig who'd done a single fan conversion on their company BT-50.

Because I run 35's and tow a bit here and there, I went with twin 14" high power fans - mounted diagonally across the rear face of the radiator.

At the same time, I also went with their Auto Trans Cooler kit that runs a 10" thermo fan as part of their setup.
Very cost effective in comparrison to the Wholesale Automatics kit that doesn't come with a fan (they don't see the necessity for one).

A bit of fine tuning and small teething issues to get it right initially, however, it all runs very well now.
I have the DC 0500 fan controller and can monitor my core radiator temp and AT fluid temp via my Scangauge II.

Pics below (next page..)
