So it is located on the passenger's side directly above the bell housing?

So finally found it, actually wasnt that obvious at all, :( the drain line actually runs above the bell housing area against the body, not even a hose just an outlet

Depends what country you are in. Like Fondles said " looking at vehicle from the front it's on the _ _ _ _ _ hand side on the firewall near the bellhousing."

Yes in some cases it would be easier to give helpful advice if the posters location was known, just a country would make a difference.

That's true bugger me, I should have given more information there. But thanks guys for the help though, it was near the bell housing area like Fondles mentioned so either way you helped me look in the right place.

Cheers.

G'day, anyone have a picture of the drain hose or where you might be able to access it from inside the car?
Cheers

Ford Ranger PX1 2012
Well I have the same problem as at least one other here as I cant find the Air Con Drain hose either !
Must have gone to the special class too ! LOL

However, My Australian PX1 does not seem to have a drain hose visible at all !
Where I expected the drain hose to exit the firewall into the engine compartment is a hole in the insulation BUT contains a slightly domed smooth surface !!??

BUT, When poking fingers into places inside the cab that they are not designed for, I find a short soft rubber type hose exiting the AC box directly down possibly to the floor above the gear box or bell housing !

Directly behind the engine, again where fingers aren't designed for, there is a hose that I cant conclusively tell if it is part of the Air Con or engine emissions system as this hose goes to a solenoid type device with a plug on power lead on the side of the engine .

Does anyone know where the AC drain goes to on Australian market PX1's and if it is accessible above or below the bell housing or if it is indeed the hose that I found is part of the Air Con system or other ?

May thanks, Peter

This seems to be a secret location in the PX1 causing lots of frustration, and maybe turning what should be a five minute job into a big job (Thanks Ford), but a friendly Ford Technician has given me a hint.

The exit in not visible from under the car, no room and many hoses and boxes of unknown use, nor from under the bonnet.
The hose exits ABOVE the gearbox/Bellhousing (Cant see so cant be exact) ! And drips down the left hand side of the gearbox, that's if it is not blocked !
Being out of sight probably means it is not usable for the simple fix with compressed air everyone talks about.

My next efforts will be inside the cab to remove the centre console for access.
Under the dash, from the drivers side (Australia) you can feel and just see a tiny bit of what I expect to be the AC Drain Hose.

Will advise more after success or otherwise, but some weeks until I can get to it.
PS: Maybe I did not go to that special school after all. LOL

It sure isn’t easy to find the drain when it’s blocked and not giving away its location ..like you say it’s above the gearbox ..the reply about it sitting at 2 o’clock ( right hand drive or left ?) and is very obvious Just made me laugh ..

Mine was blocked as well. I read all this and still couldn't find it. So, I disconnected the plastic line to the console cooler box, on mine it's on the left side just ahead of the console, and sprayed a/c cleaner into it till it foamed out, then reconnected it. Next I removed the cabin filter and sprayed cleaner past the fan into the center part of the housing. This got cleaner on both sides of the evaporator. I used a small amount on the output side of the evaporator and a whole can on the inlet side. I replaced the cabin filter and in a few minutes i could see the dirty foam dripping under the transmission. I then started the truck and turned the a/c on high to blow the cleaner through the evaporator. The dirt and foam kept coming out for about 10 minutes and then just water. The drain now works fine, lots of water pouring out and the a/c smells fresher and works better. That's about it. the dog

For those who want to know where the drain hose for A/C, it sits up above the front of your transmission & bellhousing. Have fun getting your hand up to clean out the hose as it will be near impossible.
I have taken a photo of it so you know what it looks like and how difficult it will be.

Thank you for the photo of the drain outlet! I’m having the same problem with my Ranger’s AC.. carpet is already soaking wet!

My question is, from where can you access the Drain Outlet? From the engine bay? Or you need to go under the car?

Thanks!

I used an inline inspection camera to take that photo.
To be quite honest there is no room to get to it as I have tried, could only just touch that cover with the tips of my fingers that sits over the drain tube,
Ford designers certainly did not think about access to clean the drain tube; most likely dropping the rear of the transmission might give more room to get to it or removing inside console to tackle it from inside the ranger.

Oh that’s sad! Brought it to a car aircon repair shop, and told me that to be able to unclog the drain line, they need to pull out the whole Dashboard…and that’s pricey! I’m still hoping that I can find a way to fix it. It is supposed to be a 10min job! :(
